Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think it is certain that et life exists somewhere, whether we will find it or it will find us is another matter, it could be so far away that we may never find each other. If we did would there be any possibilty finding any common basis of communication? Benefits - too awsome to contemplate, but the furthering & exchange of knowledge could be incredible. Dangers - also too awsome to contemplate, complete extinction through disease or violence. But you can't die wondering!!

2. Yes, basic atomic structures and mathematical equations, and a picture of Halle Berry. And BETAMAX version of Monty Python & The Holy Grail.

3. It would be a great "world community" achievement to find et life.
