Personal background
My real name is David, I'm 19, I come from Germany and I can say Computers are my life.
In my freetime I do some programming, artwork and I chat a lot.
It startet very early that I was interested in computers and I hope it will so for the next 60 years. ;)
After my Abitur (it's like GCSE exam) I want to study computer studies.
Okay, that's enough about me. :þ
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, yes. There is surely life outside of the the earth. The universe is large. Very large. And I can not believe that there is only life on the earth. Would be a little bit lonely, eh?
Well but what's if we discover aliens, or even if they come to us. I hope we won't react in the wrong way. There might be some communication problems, other type of body language and so on.
Peace is the best way. And I KNOW you will do it the right way.

Transmit a beacon? Sure. But the data to transfer is up to you. You are the "man behind" SETI, not me. Send some Kraftwerk music and everybody will be happy ;)

Why do I run SETI@home. Well... my computer is up 24/7 and normally in the nights it was doing nothing useful. And why should I waste energy for nothing?
One day I heard about SETI@home and since that day I run SETI@home if my computer has nothing to compute ;)
I hope the SETI@home project will continue for some years. What shall my computer do all the nights without you?!?
If there is no more data to compute find another type of data to compute, maybe the ingredients of Coca-Cola, or what else.

I believe in you and your aim.

Yours,
David
