Profile: Robert Glaub

Personal background
I'm 48 years old and work as an intelligence analyst for the Department of Defense. My interests, besides SETI, include reading and writing science fiction and fantasy. I attend many science fiction conventions, and have met many members of the SETI@home effort there. My other interests include cooking, computers, wargaming and sports.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I definitely think that extraterrestrial life exists, and that we'll probably find the evidence in somebody's midden on the moon or Mars. We could discover lots of new techologies, but the political, social and religious ramifications of any such discovery are going to be enormous.

2. We are already transmitting a beacon. When we first started using radio and later television we created a bubble expanding at the speed of light that basically says "We're here!"

3. I run SETI@home because I want to help.
