Personal background
Too many years as a system analyst. Now self employed. Lost somewhere in the New Mexico desert. Old enough to know better but young enough to not care.

I enjoy sailing, hiking, and getting lost with my GPS. Not much to tell really.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

There has to be life out there. It's foolish to think otherwise. Perhaps it's like ours perhaps, and more likely, it is not. Finding life out there would be nice. But contact is another story.

Transmitting a beacon may or may not be a good idea. The implications are many.

I run the @ home client to help the search. I enjoy watching it crunch away at the data knowing that I'm taking part in a worthwhile process. I wish there could be more people involved so we can find some usefull signal data.

It would be beyond cool to be the one that finds the signal in all the noise.
