Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@Home is a very nice service. Do I believe there is Extraterrestrial Life out there? The answer to that is absolutely. The reason for this is I find it absolutely impossible for us to live in such a fast universe with so many star systems or stars alone. If you think about it, if one in one billion stars had one planet that sustained life that would make a LOT of planets out there that support life. Just imagine the odds of Earth being unique, I can’t. I think that human should continue the search for extraterrestrial life in any ways possible, Examples: Sending singles out into space, setting up wide band beacons and building the technology to be able to take us into other star systems close to our own that may have the change of being very similar to our own system.
I run SETI@Home for a number of reasons. 1.) It supports a good cause. 2.) Its fun to watch. And, 3.) I have nothing better to do with unused CPU power :-)
