Personal background
I live in Ohio, and I plan to be the first one to hear the big booming voice of ET!! I am a Commanding Officer in the Imperial Star Trek Zone. I have been interested in finding life in outerspace all my life. I am a former Seti@home client that has logged in more than 300 hours of data.I have been away from it for about 3 years but have started back. I had to start from scratch because I forgot my old email address. LOL
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I absolutely, positivley believe that life exists out there and I also believe that they have been visiting us for many years. I think that we as a planet will be told about this within the next 5 to 10 years as sightings are becoming more and more believable especially with all the video equipment that is available to us now.
The benefits of this are great because of all the technology that aliens must have available to them, but I also think it could be a very dangerous thing. Just look at how our government handles things.
I definitely think we should transmit a beacon for others to find. I, myself already think that whomever is out there knows alot about us. But I think they might think that we are too hostile a race to contact. I think this because it seems like whenever something unknown is in the sky, the first thing our government does is scramble fighter jets and try to have them identify themselves. But what if we're not using the same frequency? They would just blow them out of the sky and that would be that.
I love Seti@home for the simple reason that those of us that were not smart enough to become astronomers and those of us that are too big to be astronauts can still be a part of what will become the greatest discovery in the history of all the planet earth. And I plan on being the one to get that little piece of data that makes us all feel that we are not all alone in this infinit universe.
