Profile: taylordotcom

Personal background
JT lives in Auckland, New Zealand. Has a recent DSL connection to the Internet and collection of vintage Macintosh computers that are networked.
Particularly fond of the SE/30 machine. Currently have six SE/30s, need another 3 more.... SETI runs best on the PPC 8100/100 and that is the most modern machine in operation at taylordotcom.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. SETI interests me as a project in distributed computing.
ET Life may exist but we may not detect it. SETI is a worthwhile exercise as if you do not look you stand no chance of finding anything.

2. Beacon perhaps not a good idea just now try in another 50 years (after I am dead)

3. I run SETI because I like the idea that I can contribute in a small way to help others achieve a goal that would be impossible economically otherwise.
