Personal background
Well, 34 years, singel with a daughter (age 14). We live just outside Stockholm, capital of Sweden. I work as a FileMaker programer at a stuffing company and my daughter is in school. Due to the fact that i only know softwere and nothing (almost) about hardwere my boss sent me a bunch of computers to learn from. So i built a network at home with servers and workstations and it´s really working well. Next question was what to do with all this potential power.
Apart from the usual ICQ, email, www, MP3, .avi and some FileMaker (of course) there was´nt much happening.
Then i heard about SETI@home and thougt well thats a good use of computer power.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I´m convinced that life exist elsewere than Earth. How and when we find it? Well i belive that "they" are far more advanced than us and they are waiting for us to evolve beyond war before they contact us.

With that in mind the SETI project should be useless..............

Remember Newton? He discoverd gravity by watching a falling apple. Much of human discovery comes from watching and studying the world around us so i belive that we can learn something from projects like SETI and perhaps that knowledge will lead to evolvment.
