The universe is so vast that it is impossible that we are the only intelligent lifeform or just lifeform out there.
I don't know how we will discover nor do i know when but sometime we will.
The dangers are many they could be much more technologically advanced then us but that could also be a good thing if they are friendly.
I run SETI@home because i want to help in the search and because i need to check temperatures on my cpu after oc'ing.
