I am 58 years old and retired from office administration. My hobbies include traveling via motor home with my husband and our two dogs. I enjoy doing swedish weaving, depression lace, crafts of all kinds, and sewing, gardening, swimming, excercising. I still water ski, but stopped snow skiing some years ago.

I have been a long time fan of sci-fi, and I have always felt that we (the human race) are not alone in the universe. I believe we will discover their presents when they want us to. I believe they have been here. As with any unknown, it is exciting and threatening. If ET has been here, it is threatening as they have exceeded our technology and probably can do with us what they want. If ET is friendly, it is exciting to maybe learn from their technology.
I see no problem with transmitting signals for others to find. It would be nice to send messages of friendship and interest in other cultures - and just to know if we are not alone. I think the message should be in English with symbols and alphabet so that ET can learn what we are saying in our language.
I want to help quicken the process that seti@home is trying to accomplish. I hope that we can ascertain the existence or non-existence of ET in my lifetime. |
