| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Yes, I believe that there is extraterrestrial life; and that in all probability they will discover us (if not so already). It is only a matter of time. The biggest danger will be if they think like us - shoot first and ask questions later. However, if we are found by extraterrestrials, then in the long run, the benefits will undoubtably outweigh the dangers.
As I've seen in so many science fiction books; the beacon should be a coded transmission that will enable someone(thing) else to interpret our language.
I run SETI@home because I believe in it. |
