I run SETI@HOME for 2 reasons. 1) As a Computer Science graduate and developer, I fully understand the power of today's processors to solve complex problems. As such, I can't bear to waste any idle CPU cycles. I also like running SETI@HOME more than other distributed project because I feel as though I'm a part of a team trying to solve one of the oldest questions mankind as ever posed. Even if this project never finds a signal, I feel as though the success of the project itself will have a dramatic affect on how we will attack large problems in the future.
