At 50 years old, I'm now bumming off my wife. I was a shovel bum (field archaeologist) and a reference desk librarian for a billion years. Got on the internet in 1989 (before commericialization) thru the the medical school where I worked in Dallas.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Might as well not waste processing power. Can't think of a more interesting question--Is there intelligent life out there somewhere? (Sometimes I wonder if it exists down here). Sure, send some transmissions. Maybe aliens will keep us from destroying ourselves completely.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
