Personal background
American. Humanist. Admirer of Carl Sagan's writings. I Believe that we must keep reaching outward and stretching our perceived limits, and I am grateful to be a small part of the magnificent process that is our universe.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am sure that the universe teems with life, but I doubt if I will live long enough to witness any contact with other sentient beings. We must keep trying to make contact, and SETI is a good start in that effort.

The entire undertaking (making contact) is so huge and will span so many generations that those of us alive today will probably not be around when first contact is made. But we must make sure that private and public institutions continue the work and expand on it.
