Personal background
I'm a 51 year old Maintenance impersonator (IE: I pretend to fix things at work). I live in Minnesota. I've been running Seti@home for about as long
as its been multi-user. I'm currently running Seti 24/7, on a Pentium IV 2gig, 512meg of ram. sweet! Currently using Windows ME but about to change to Linux.
It's been fun watching my work unit time decrease as I've upgraded my computer.
I kind of use this to compare. Old computer-- 10-13 hours, this one 5 hours.
My hobbies are: music (Metallica or Beethoven or anything in between), bowling, computer games, screwing up my computer and paying bills.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think life exists out there somewhere. Finding it is going to be very difficult, take a long time and require a great deal of luck. I used to
think that if intelligence can evolve on one planet, then it can evolve on
others. But after the events of 9/11 I'm not so sure there's any intelligence on this planet either or if it will still be here when the aliens find Earth.

I am running Seti@home to help search for other beings. Plus what good are
computers if they're shut off?
