Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The SETI@home project is a very cool example of how we can
better utilize the abudent resources of this planet - it's
also a marvelous experiment in distibuted computing.
Whether or not we find E.T. may be less important than what
we are learning and what SETI@home represents in terms
of human achievement. As such, we've all ready gleaned
much of the benefit. To the extent that the project
brings together a global community of aware people -- those
who believe in what may be as well as those who are only
genuinely curious, it as all ready brought extra-terrestrial
intelligence home.
