Personal background |
I retired from the University of Alaska Anchorage and am now living in the "remote" village of Seldovia, AK., about an hour (by fast boat) from Homer, AK. My home of origin is Fairbanks, where the dark winter skies captured my interest long before viewing Sputnik from my bedroom window. In the early/mid 60's I would spend long nights shooting, developing and printing Aurora photos with my foster Dad. I have two favorite auroral viewing spots: 1) Chena Hot Springs, outside of Fairbanks; and 2) ascending from a night dive in any body of water. Both can be a real spiritual experience. Seldovia is a coastal town, which means there is an abundance of weather in the winter, which means unfavorable conditions for star-gazing. But, when the weather is clear it is truly magnificent here. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
How can there NOT be someone else out there? I run SETI@home in hopes that one of us will stumble across some evidence. |
