Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it?
yes, defenately. maybe not in the forms we are used to but at leats some kind of single cellulair life has to be out there. especially if you see on what kind of conditions earth bacteria can live
What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Humans are by nature affraid of anything too much different from their own physicall appearance. so it depends who encounters them first. the cowboy or the scientist. But in generall i thing planet earth is not ready for it. just loom at what's happening in israel. saying there is alien life will mean the end of Mekka and they will not accept that !
The benefits are equallty great. : New insights, possible new technology, world piece maybe ?
Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
We already did with voyager. and the info should be basic so even an infant can understand.
Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
SETI@home is a good burn in test, and ofcource having the chance to actually find something allthough it's astronomically (literly) small
