Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes I believe there is life out there.

I really can't imagine when and how we will discover ALF's but I think there's, like on Earth, good and evil among them. In my opinion good will contact us when evil plans to invade us ;) - I think the benefits will be the alien technology and way of life. I want to be on a starship like the people from the Star Trek movies. Money is a barrier for civilisation and evolution. Replicate !!! =)
The only danger is to get our planet attacked by evil alien forces and be all brought to slavery. Hmm... what to transmit ? I think a simple PING will do fine. Who says aliens are not curious? All scientists including aliens scientists will do whatever they can to find out about that signal. Okay put some binary message in it like: Greetings aliens! Wanna enjoy some Coke at 3°C? Come visit us.
Theoretically they can't imagine what this message want them to say. So they will do what every scientist does. Find out what the hell is going on at this far away little blue class "M" planet called C478-YGHT-23-5. I run Seti@Home because I love the idea. Thats all. The Project is just ass kickin' and is in my opinion build up on the hope of all mankind to discover intelligent alien lifeforms - whatever this will bring for the future...
