Hi, I´m coming from a little city near Cologne (Germany) called Huerth. I was born in 1975. I love music and I like to go to concerts. I´ve got a tarantula named Thekla and she´s always hungry. I am an administrator for communicationsystems in big company. I think that´s me.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, I think we´re not alone in the universe. We won´t find them in the next 500 years. They´ll meet us. In any good hollywood movie the dangers are shown. Extraterrestrial life is mostly hostile (but not E.T.). The benifits will be the technology. Maybe they are more developped than we are. There we can learn new technologies. To my opinion they will bring us more benfit than danger.
2. Didn´t NASA already transmit these beacons? Yes, we should send a beacon. The informtion must be a short review of mankind. But in a simple form. (like male/female etc.)
3. I run SETI@home because so I maybe can help the scientist to discover extraterrestrial life. I think it´s a cool idea to connect so many computers in the internet.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
