I definitely beleive extraterrestrial life exists. To beleive that we are the only intelligence in the universe is a little conceited I think. We could make the discovery any day, there's no telling. Right now an alien radio signal could be entering the solar system headed our way.
We should definitely transmit a beacon, what's the point of hiding in the darkness. We have so much to learn from other intelligence and so much to give. We should transmit our art and music and everyhting else we humans can be proud of. Perhaps we should ommit our somewhat violent history and not mention our political structures and beliefs.
I run SETI@home becasue I am convinced that there are other civillisations out there in the big black and I want to help in locating them. The volume of data to be monitored is so big you guys need all the help you can get with the annalysis. The project is a great idea and I'm proud to be a part of it.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
