Personal background
I'm orginally from West Virginia, always loved going to the Greenbank Observatory. All those Antennas stretching as far as the eye could see. I'm 31 years old, and have always been fascinated with the possibilties that lie in our world and beyond. I'm a System Administrator for a Pediatrics office in Wilmington, NC. So I love just watching for spikes on my Seti@home here at work. :-)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I look at it this way, and I have to agree with the movie, "Contact", If there is no one or nothing else out there, It's an awful waste of space.

We should send a signal, to what it should include, the mathmatical equivalent of "We come in Peace"? I don't really know what we should say, just as long as we say it.

I run Seti@home because I have always been fascinated about life beyond our stars. I want to know, and I want to contribute as much as I can to the cause. You never know. Maybe it just so happens that that one computer added to the list, will be the one to find that spike, we've been looking for.
