J'ai découvert Seti@home en juillet 2000.
J'habite dans le sud de la France, à l'est de Marseille, dans une charmante ville entre mer et garrigue, dont les chantiers navals avaient, il y a quelques temps, une renommée à l'échelle mondiale : La Ciotat (13600).
A part ça, je suis enseignant, passionné d'Internet, d'informatique, de radio, bref : de communication. Ca tombe bien, non ? ;o) Je travaille sur PowerMacintosh G4 et j'utilise Seti@home Darwin (Unix).
I discovered Seti@home in July, 2000. I live in the South of France, east of Marseille, in the charming city between sea and scrubland, shipyards of which had, there is a little while, a fame at the world level: Ciotat ( 13600 ). Otherwise, I am school teacher, fascinated by Internet, by data processing, radio, in brief: of communication. That falls indeed, no?; o) Â I work on PowerMacintosh G4 and I use Seti@home Darwin ( Unix).

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1) Si l'on considère la taille de notre planète par rapport à l'immensité des galaxies qui nous environnent, il serait bien étonnant que la vie ne se soit déposée que sur notre petite Terre seulement... Que les Humains recherchent encore et encore : le Contact se fera un jour.
2) La balise devrait contenir des données numériques décrivant nos coordonnées, des représentations de notre planète, des humains, etc.
3) Je participe au programme Seti@home conscient du fait que si tous les "petits" ordinateurs dans le monde voulaient de donner la main, la puissance de calcul serait telle qu'aucun autre supercalculateur ne parviendrait à égaler. Il n'y a qu'à voir combien d'autres organisations ont copié ce concept ! ;o)))
 1) If one considers the size of our planet with regard to the unlimitedness of the galaxies which surround us, it would be very surprising that the life settled only on our small Earth only... The Human beings should still look for and still : the Contact will be made one day.
2) The beacon should contain digital) data describing our coordinates, representations of our planet, human beings, etc.
3) I participate in the program Seti@home aware of the fact that if all the "small" computers in the world wanted to give the hand, the power of calculation would be such as no other supercomputer would succeed in equalling. Â There is only to see how many other organizations have already copied this concept ! ; o))
