| Hi! I'm Zach, a 21 year old guy currently going to school in Florida to be a Motorcycle Technician. My hobbies include woodworking, playing music on any of a number of instruments, and of course, computers! I'm originally from New Hampshire, but probably won't be returning once I finish school, because the riding season is so short. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I run SETI@home for a few reasons. First of all, I was tracing some posts that my dad was mentioned in, and found my way to the AnAnd Tech forum. Upon further investigation, I found a bunch of mentions of him in "SETI Race Stats" postings, and having never heard of SETI, I looked it up. I found the project interesting myself, and decided that I might as well help if I can. I'm at school or work most of the time, so I let the BOINC manager run throughout the day and am able to process a decent amount of data for my laptop. Funnily enough, I used to have a homemade Beowulf Cluster Computer that I built myself, but could never figure out a good use for. Now that I've found one, I no longer have the machine. Maybe I'll build another, better one for SETI. |
