Hi there! Munich is calling...
I was born on 21st of June 1965. Currently I work in the financial department of a big chemical company. Actually my private interests are very different from what I am doing in the office. As they are: my dwarf hamster, astronomy, geology, plants, nature, books, museums, watercolour painting (if I had the time...). (Sorry - I am not a native speaker. So if you'll find errors, you may keep them ;-)

Those who maintain that there is no extraterrestrial life should think about the size of the universe. There are so many things human cannot understand nor see. We are too small to realize how small we really are. It is like an ant sitting on a rock in Central Park, saying: "No, that is all. It is quite impossible that there exists another rock like this with an ant sitting on it somewhere out there. No chance! Too many factors are essential for this to work. Out there - what does that mean anyway? No, I AM THE ONLY ONE". Do I need to say more? It reminds me of that part in history, when mankind believed the earth is flat with the sun and planets circling around her...".
I believe, the status of evolution of extraterrestrial life variies more than movies want us make to believe. Why should they be extremly primitive or on the other hand have an extremly higher knowledge. It could be anything between. It could be forms of life we cannot imagine.
Yes, we should transmit a beacon for others to find. With a lot of luck it is hard to believe that the extraterrestrial life is looking exactly for this kind of signal..., but you'll never know... Unfortunately we, the senders, will not be alive anymore when the answer would arrive.
Therefore Seti plays a big role. Let's look for signals now.
