Profile: Newt Blihar

Personal background
Living in a small community in West Virginia, USA. I am retired, from the U.S. Navy and my civilian job. I have had a much interest in space exploration and have been a avid reader of science fiction for many years. When the opportunity to actually participate in a project of space exploration became available I jumped in.
My hobbies now include computer, games mostly; some hunting; and hiking. Although my health has just about stopped the hunting and hiking, I can still run around on my computer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I most strongly agree that there is life out there. As with any encounter involving the unknown there is risk, but so is crossing the street. We must try, because if we want to expand out horizons contact is a must.
Try to send a signal, sure, but where to?
