Immigrated to Canada April 1979
Age 70.
I am retired after spending 35 years in IT working (in Data Centers) with IBM Midrange Systems.
Operations, Administration, Programming, Networking, Security, Management.
I am using FreeBSD Release 12.0 OS, with Virtualbox and Windows guest to execute BOINC
My interests:
Amateur Radio, Astronomy, Space, Telecommunications.
Photography, Wine, Mountaineering (Reading about), Anthropology, Geology, Genealogy.
History of WWII (European Theater), Ancient Civilizations (Roman/Greek/Egyptian/Maya/Inca).
Original muscle cars of 1960's. I had a 1981 Chevrolet 5.7 liter, loved that car!
I now have a (actually manufactured in Sweden) 1984 Volvo 760 Turbo, has approx 325,000 kilometers on the clock, still going strong.
I do all maintenance work myself, and have basically all the spare parts to keep it going, until I will no longer need it. |

I have always had a great interest in Space, and I am excited to be a part of this amazing project.
I loved the original Star Trek series and movies, fascinating as Mr. Spock would say!
Are we alone, who knows, but maybe we might get an answer sometime, hope it won't take too long, my existence is declining.
The Project, needless to say, it is tremendous, but I would ask all the brilliant minds involved in this (and other Scientific endeavours) to keep some perspective on how they could
address some of the immediate pressing problems that humankind currently face.
