Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Being a BOINC volunteer tester beats working the daily crytoquote for fighting off old-age dementia. SETI seems to be the most well-behaved app that runs under boinc.
2) SETI and BOINC projects offer me a good way to play with computers and troubleshooting/instrumentation. And get further into linux for personal use.
3) Developers should comment published code liberally as possible. That would be a big help for noobs like me and reduce tiresome noob questions to the experienced.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
