Personal background
Hiya, I’m a 54 year old lady from the United Kingdom , and I’m a Customer Response Advisor part time. In my spare time I love hiking (I’m most at home in dense woodlands, forests and anywhere near lakes and canals), reading, playing the occasional computer game and curling up with a good movie. Following 2 heart attacks I’ve developed a few health conditions that are making it difficult to be as physical as I used to be, but I’m hoping that one day I can get back out into the wilds.I have always believed that were
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I’ve always believed we are not alone, that this Universe is far to huge for us to be the only life, and in my humble opinion I also believe that whoever or whatever is out there has already paid us a visit, but seen what a violent and destructive species we can be, and chosen not to make contact. In effect they are not only waiting for us to develop technologically, but they are waiting to see if we continue on this path of self destruction.

I found out about SETI@home from watching an episode of Alien Encounters and I just knew I had to get involved, to be able to help out in some small way to sort through all that noise, to see if there was that faint echo ech of an ‘hello’. I doubt it will ever happen in my lifetime, but I live in hopes. This project is a wonderful idea, as it brings together like minded individuals, and whose computer power all join together. I’m probably the least scientific person here, so I wish I was intelligent enough to understand the images I see on my screensaver, but I’m doing what I can to educate myself.
