| Hi, I am a 28 year old single mother of one, beautiful daughter. I joined SETI@home to get some good out of this computer that sets here all day... I have been interested in SETI, since I first read about it in Shadows of Our Forgoten Ancestors, by Carl Sagen and Ann Druan. I hope to one day actually find something "out there". I would like to take this time to thank SETI@home for making it possible for us 'regualar joes' to participate in such a wonderful research program! Trust me, this is like a dream come true for me, except I STILL don't get to listen! That is the one thing I would like to request from SETI@home! I think there is too big of a probability for there to NOT be extraterrestrial life. When you think in Carl Sagen's words... billions and billions and billions of stars... let alone planets, WOW, there has got to be something else out there other than us... what makes us so special, that we'd be the only ones.
We have probably already discovered it, we just don't know it yet. I mean there are Billions of objects in the sky to look at... I personally (while hunting with my brother) have seen a UFO, and so has my father... we're just regualar people, not fanatics... so I mean with all the technology out there, we've just missed what is starring us in the face, I am sure.
Benefits: lord knows! We may be doing everything the hard way! LOL
Dangers: Hey, if we can fight wars with our own people here... You know we will once there are allens on the planet! :) :( you never know!
We definately should transmit a beacon... I mean there gonna find us anyway... we might as well make it easy for them!
We should tell them of our greatest feats... like when we landed on the moon or got soil samples from Mars! I mean it will give them an idea of where our technology stands.
I run SETI@home to live a dream I have had... to participate in SETI, I think this project is great!!!!! I would love to be able to listen!!!!!!!!!! |
