Personal background
Hello everybody!
I was 1986 in Salzburg/Austria. Here I'm attending High School.
I'm a big STAR TREK fan and I believe that ET is out there. I heard about SETI some time ago on the television and was eager to participate too.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why I run SETI@home on my Computer?
Because there is something out there, and we are about to discover it!
I got an opportunity to find other life forms, so the real question is: why shouldn't I run SETI@home?
I have no doubts, that we will meet ET within 30 years. And maybe, if we find them by SETI, we might meet them even earlier! Anyway, they are out there and we will find them. (Or they'll find us, I don't mind.)
Think about it! If there are so many galaxies, why should there be no other life forms? Can we be so arrogant to believe, we are the only intelligent (?) life form in the whole universe?
I think we live in a very exciting and changing time! Who can foresee what will happen tomorrow? Who has ever prooven that there is NO intelligent life elsewhere in the universe? Who knows when we discover new civilizations? Who knows...

Bye, and enjoy!
Bertram

P.S.: Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in th universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.
