Personal background |
I joined SETI@home in order to be a part of the largest computer in the world. My first computer I signed up with SETI was a 2012 Acer laptop with an Intel Celeron CPU that took about a week to complete a single task. Soon after, I got a better computer - a Dell OptiPlex 790, the one with the i5-2500 and AMD ATI Radeon 5450. I currently use this PC and another with an i5-9600K and a 1050Ti, but I don't plan to use this for SETI. I would rather not subject this new PC to the stress of 24/7 data processing, but I will do it if someone convinces me otherwise :) . Space and air travel have always fascinated me and this seemed like a good opportunity to contribute to science and astronomy. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. I run SETI@home to contribute to science and the largest computer in the world.
2. It's cool to have a worldwide voluntary project dedicated to science; it's more about the worldwide community for me, to be honest.
3. No suggestions. BOINC runs perfectly. |
