Hello.
I am over 50, and a hobby astronomer from Austria / Vienna.
I am observing and researching at a Sternwarte in Lower Austria, where I am very active.
My two main sayings are:
> If we do not know where we come from, we will never know vohon we go.
> When observing unique deep-sky objects, the tears of affection must flow away to the ear. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

The possibility to support a research project or even contribute to it is a significant part for me because these otf are stopped by the wrong policy or even by lack of support (by the politicians and individual persons). Only with a broad support of many one achieves also much - This is just the incentive.
Since the Sternwarte also operates radio astronomy (currently in the area of solar research), the settee of Seti must also be taken into account.
The question "are we alone" or "we find evidence of extraterrestrial technology" is entitled to ask and explore. Each individual and each performance that is available for this research project is to be acknowledged and supported. |
