Profile: Selena

Personal background
Hi! my name is Selena and I am from Vancouver Island, Canada. I am 25 and live with my mom (due to medical reasons) and my Dog Angel and my 13 year old cat Cleo. I have always been interested in the paranormal and I have always believed in exter-terrestial life. Mainly because I was always told when I was growing up that if I didn't behave my "human" mother was going to send me back to my "alien" parents. It was her little joke because I was always sucha space cadet.

Anyways, I am currently a journalism student. I am on disability income due to Multiple Personality Disorder (DID) and loss of hearing and tinnitis(constant ringing in ears). I would like to one day become either a war correspondant or an investigative journalist covering stories of paranormal phenomonon and stories of aliens and U.F.O.'s. I know sounds pathetis huh...I actually worship Art Bell and George Noory from Coast to Coast AM because that is the type of job I always wanted to do and they've done/doing it.

Okay, I admit I don't know what else to put here. So, I guess I will stop for now. Thankx for your time. Let's hope one of us one day find a message from our alien neighbours out there. :o)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1: Yes I do believe extraterrestrial life exists. It is stupid to believe we are the only ones out there. I think we already have discovered it, we just need to figure out what they signs mean. I honestly don't know what benefits/dangers there would be.

2: Some one...quick flik the switch let's get this beacon transmitting. I think we should send a bit of information on religions, education, family structures, peaceful stuff, roughly how old our civiliazation is, a peaceful invitation to visit/make contact, etc. Not that it really matters because they have been watching us for centuries they know what we are like.

3: I run SETI @home because one I have to leave my computer on 24/7 so I might as well have it doing something useful. Two, because it has always been my dream to one day be the first person to find a message from space. This might be the only way I have to accomplish that dream.

When it comes to the SETI project I have always disagreed with my friends or the ones I had anyway. I have always believed that SETI was doing an amazing thing and I often got angry when people would say that what SETI is doing is a complete waste of time and money. If it is a waste of time and money then why do so many people want to be involved? Because we want to believe there is something more out there than just us. SETI...keep up the good work.
