Personal background
I live in Florida and I am one of the few natives left. I am a father of two wonderful boys. I am currently working in the medical field as an Emergency Medical Technician. My hobbies include any kind of outdoor activity or sports and camping. I am an avid Sci-Fi fan. I watch just about every Sci-Fi tv show on, most especially Star Trek, Stargate SG-1 and the now cancelled X-Files.

I've seen 50 shuttle launches in person. It's an incredible sight to see. If you've never seen a launch in person, you're missing out.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there is extraterrestrial life somewhere in the universe. Whether or not it is sentient is another question. If there is sentient life somewhere out there, we may never know because of the vast distances involved. Also, sentient life may have already existed in some distant galaxy which has now become extinct or their sun may have destroyed their planet and/or galaxy in a huge supernova. We should send a simple beacon for any sentient, extraterrestrial life to be able to understand and reply back. I currently run SETI@home to help in that search for life outside of our solar system.
