Personal background
My name is Ramon and I am 39 y.o. I reside in New York City, New York. Currently working as an administrative assistant in a small company. My hobbies are reading a good book, taking long walks and just lay in the park at night and just look up at the sky and just wonder what is out there. Love Sci-Fi movies because eventually they end up as our reality.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, extraterrestrial life exist. And how do we or when do we discover them? Well, when they allow us too! The benefits or dangers of discovery? Well, the benefits will most probably be is the exchange of technology and medical breakthroughs, if we are able to use their technology wisely and not to destroy other lifeforms or ourselves. The dangers are, that they must protect themselves from us. From our selfishness and fear. Fear of what we do not know and fear of what they can do to us if we step out of bounds. Yes most likely there will be lifeforms that are not as evolved as other species and "maybe" try to attack us. Most likely not. Some are just waiting for use to evolve to a higher state of being before they show themselves to us. But first we must learn to love one another and learn not to destroy ourselves. I believe they walk among us now. They are watching us. Fear not because they will not intervene. We must first discover ourselves and progress. The wars must stop. The pollution must stop. The destruction of our planet must stop. Who will allow a species to progress if our species do but to destroy things everywhere they go. This must stop. Look around and you know!
So, send all the signals you want to. Let them listen. But, what good is it when they are watching us destroy ourselves.
Love your project, and I am glad to participate in it. Remember, they will show themselves when they allow it to! GOOD LUCK!
