Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Yes, Universe is too big for just us humans no matter how divinely special we may be. We will discover it quite by accident and my optimism wants to believe it will be a positive experience for mankind but my gut feeling is that there is a 50/50 chance we meet "bad" aliens first. Either way, I am not totally convinced life on earth will be threatened either way. I think it is far more likely that humans destroy life on earth.

2) Yes, it is human nature to seek answers to questions, to explore, to boldly go somewhere. We should send Beatles music and Jimmy Carter's recent Nobel Prize acceptance speach.

3)I like to think my small contribution may help continue this scientific effort. I think it is remarkable that a totally voluntary effort can be maintained at such a great level. I would keep improving the screensaver and also report on any "suspicious signals".
