Profile: Francis Wells

Personal background
I'm 50. I live and work in Shropsbire as a Business Analyst in the Public Sector. Outside of work I'm a bit of a dreamer; with lots of thought and little action! Who knows? Perhaps I shall write that novel after all!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
With around 100 million stars in our Milky Way and, (how many) millions of galaxies that our telescopes have reported, it would be hubristic to suggest that Mankind were the only sentient lifeform in the universe.

Science should never rely on probability as the solution to any question, however. It should always seek to corroborate a hypothesis - if not prove it -with solid, empirical data. As my career has led me away from the physical sciences I studied, I'm glad that, by my PC running SETI@Home, I can still contribute to the work of the scientific community.
