Personal background
PC Technician, Retail Associate, avid outdoors enthusiast.

I've been contributing to seti@home since before BOINC was conceived. I initially starting crunching data for the seti@home project on a Pentium 166 with 80mb of ram back around the late 90's/early 00's. Distributed computing is an interest of mine. I typically devote 70-80% cpu + 100% gpu in winter, and about 60-65% +100% gpu in warmer weather (to prevent thermal lockup) to the project on my current systems when I'm not using them (at work, camping, watching tv).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.) I run it because it's fun to see how much data my computers can crunch, and the prospect of finding evidence of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe is captivating.
2.) I've always had positive views regarding seti@home. Using distributed computing for scientific benefit, and potentially locating signs of life elsewhere in the universe is a worthwhile endeavor.
3.) Support more mobile hardware for boincAndroid. I've installed the android client several times but it always throws up computation errors. Also, please create a boinc client for older pc's (win9x/2k/older linux versions). Even if they're not optimal, providing those older systems with a purpose helps giving them a continued use an keeps them out of landfills.
