Personal background
Hi all!
So I should tell you guys somethin' 'bout myself, eh? ;)
I'm from Germany. Actually I live in the very northern Part of that beautiful country. The North Sea to the west and the Baltic Sea to the east, and somewhere in between is my home. :D
I'm 25 years old and I'm studying Economics at the University of Hamburg for two semesters now.
I'm a fan of the "Perry Rhodan" Novels (that's SciFi, for those of you who don't know the name). I'm very interested in astropysics and chemistry but I wouldn't go that far and call it a hobby...
Music: I like "System of a down", "KoRn", "Adema", "Lenny Kravitz" and "Red Hot Chili Peppers" (just to mention a few of 'em).
Furthermore I'm the dungeon master in an "AD&D" [that means: "Advanced Dungeons and Dragons"] Group consisting of 5 players (including one female). I'`m playing Pen&Paper-Games for ten years now... quite a long time.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Of course I think that extraterrestrial life exists. There's so much space in our universe for more intelligent life than just us. Maybe there are even civilisations that lived millions of years ago in a distant part of the universe. Or maybe there are civilisations which we can't locate because their technology level is too low to produce signals which can be located from here.
And if you think about the possibility of the existence of a multiverse - meaning that there are many many universes like ours coexisting in some kind of space - there are unlimited possibilities for human kind to explore and learn new things! (If we don't destroy ourselves before...)

I run Seti@home because I want to be a part of this great work. I think that analysing the "noises of the universe" is one way to find new "neighbours". There are so many people who just talk and talk about the existence but who don't do anything to prove it. This work is at least a small step in the right direction I think.
