Personal background
My name is Jason and I am 45 years old. I live in Danville, KY. I am disabled so I can make time for this project. I have a small business I run from home. I design websites and mobile apps for local businesses, churches, and organizations. I also live stream video and produce videos for these clients and others as well. I have enjoyed working with computers for over 30 years now. I have been a part of SETI before several years ago, and I have tried to find the SETI@home project and software before a few years ago, but could not find it. I am so glad the project is still alive and well.
I firmly believe that we are not alone in the universe. I am a Christian, but I guess my beliefs are a mixture of both the Bible and what present day science teaches as well. I believe the Big Bang was created by God. You cannot make me believe that our world the way everything works was a series of "random accidents" or just "blind luck" that we exist. There has to be an intelligence behind the way nature works on our planet. The amazing machine that is the human body had to be designed. That also makes me believe that same intelligence would only create us in this vast universe. Just 20 years ago many scientist would argue that there were no other planets, only ours. Now we have proof that planets exist. Life is more plentiful that we could ever imagine out there. I believe that so strongly that is why I have signed up to help find it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI to help listen for the signs of other life out there. Its not a question of whether or not life exists, but how long will it take before we find them. They already have found us (many times). We know now exoplanets exist, and in our own solar system we know life once existed on Mars (duh, knew that a long time ago), and we are learning there could possibly be forms of life on other planets in our system, under ice perhaps, but water exists on at least one other moon. If more people would volunteer their computer's down time, we could find this life quicker. I have been watching my computer processing, and it has already identified strong peaks in patterns, so I think it won't be long until we find the signal. The next challenge will be to figure out exactly what the signal is for.

I think SETI also needs to come up with a smartphone/tablet SETI@home app to use those processors while we sleep and the device is being charged. Just think of all that additional processing power together!

I am going to make my own video promoting SETI and I would like your help with it too. Please contact me.
