Profile: John

Personal background
Names's John Hanson from Illinois in the US. I'm 66 and retired. I've been interested in space and science fiction since high school. I built my computers with this one comming on line in late December (a real screamer). I hope that we find ET out there before I die as I firmly believe they are there somewhere.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe ET exists because statistically, it has been figured that there are approximatly 1 to 2 million habital planits in the universe. This was figured on a carbon based system, but I question that this might be too narrow a view.

I have read a great deal of science fiction, both classical and contemporary. The one thing all of these authors tried to convey was not to become tunnled in your vision. We may have ET already here but because of their makeup we are not able to comunicate (a pure energy being). As a result, I believe we need to reevaluate our hypothisis.
