Personal background
Hello. I am updating this from my previous background information on myself finally, as I’m now graduated from High School and as I am now on my way to college. A little about myself. I am a 17 old, that just completed high school at Queensbury High School. As the name suggests, I live in Queensbury, NY. It’s a wonderful area with a great atmosphere. As I completed high school, my thoughts on it was mostly what everyone else though it was, just a passing of time in your life and a transition period to adult life. I thought of it this way as I did not think High School was much of anything other than graduating and getting my diploma and leaving to bigger and better things, as most would think anyways. Now that I’m done with high school, I will be moving on to, two colleges. The first being SUNY Adirondack for 2 years. The second being SUNY Albany for the last 2 years. My major I’m looking into will be Political Science, as I enjoy government and politics. But I also enjoy science and IT, so something in those fields would be interesting too. Either way, after college, I will be looking into hopefully some good employment opportunities for myself, so that I can live a good life, that will hopefully be of happiness. But anyways, since you ask for some of my hobbies, they would include fishing, hunting, drone flying, gaming, etc. I don’t do a lot, but when I do, this is the list that makes the most sense. In conclusion, hopefully as one little person in this big world, I will hopefully of left some of you a little more information about myself and my goals with this project.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The reason why I got into this SETI project is pretty simple. I look at as a opportunity to help out the discovery of science and life as humanity keeps pressing on into the future. Many people ask the age old question of why are we here? Or are we the only intelligent out there in the cosmos? These big questions sparked my interest in this project and as we go forward, I want to continue using my dated computer from 2009, to help out this great project. It’s not very powerful, so I don't expect it top the list on SETI but it’s capiable enough to run the proper calculations and help science and the search for life, which is all that I need it to do. Anyways, that’s why I chose to run the program, not just for the search for life and science, but because I didn’t want my computer just sitting and collecting dust doing nothing.
