| I'm from Shelly Beach in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. I'm 28 years old, and am an aromatherapist, reflexologist and Reiki Master. I was a legal secretary for 10 years but that got boring after about two minutes. I love reading (especially Terry Pratchett), fabric painting, watching movies and going out with friends for a night of dancing and socialising. I have three dogs and four cats. I love music and plan on learning how to play guitar and drums when I have a chance. Also planning on doing the Ufology course offered by Totton College this year or next, finances permitting. I'm the kind of person who wants to achieve everything possible in life (academically). If I won a big lottery I would study for the rest of my life. Subjects of interest would be genetics, astronomy & space science, metaphysics, veterinary science, medical science, and I'm sure I'll find way more along the way. |

| I do think extraterrestrial life exists and I think the government/s know more than they're letting on for the sake of public sanity. I think a lot of the more closed minded people would lose their sense of identity (not to mention religion/faith) if they knew what is really out there. But that's not a good enough reason to keep us all in the dark. Benefits of communicating with ETs are learning from them (technology, medicine, etc.), dangers would be not knowing their intentions (whether they are hostile). I don't think we should transmit a beacon for them to find as they may be a hostile species and wish to destroy earth (we're doing a damn good job of it ourselves and don't need any help!) If information was to be sent to outer space we should ensure it represents everybody, not just the scientists or the USA. I run SETI@home with the hope that it will be me that finds THE signal, although it's great to be of assistance to such a great project, no matter how small my contribution is. |
