Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe extraterrestrial life exists elsewhere. Even though it is debatable weather it has contacted us as of yet, it is inconsequencal. The odds are so much in favor of life being out there that it is remarkable the ridiculous arguments that people use to try to deny it. The info we send should be of the human kind variety. Our exact point in the universe, with a most exhaustive information cache about us and the many ways on how we believe we came to be. I run SETI because it is an easy and no expense way to do my part. Ill never pretend to know what im doing when it comes to running huge telescopes, the technicial themes behind radio transmissions and the technology needed to recive and reply to such messages. I think SETI is a great project. It gives people who wouldnt normally have any contact with this research a way to help out the scientific world so that their resources can be directed somewhere else instead of decoding transmissions from space-which any pc can obviously do.
