Personal background
After a number of years working abroad my family and I settled down in the Netherlands were I'm still working with the "same" Telecom company, which is going through the process of shake out. After a joint venture with AT&T, Lucent and merger of equals, I ended up working for Nokia. In the mean time my kids grown up and left home, so we my wife an I started a new phase in our life.

Since a long time I'm already interested in astronomy and computing and I'm always busy working on these hobbies next to running and skating if we got ice in Holland. Linux dominates in my house as well and I hope to complete my BSc study astronomy at UCLAN. My dissertation is related to SETI.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm a volunteer of CAMRAS, which is responsible to operate and maintain the 25m Dwingeloo Telescope (DT). Within CAMRAS we are working to implement SETI@CAMRAS, i.e. integrating the back end of the DT into the Seti at Home software.

In this way we are hoping to contribute on SETI using the DT. In 2017 we are trying to organize the SETI@CAMRAS conference with the support of ASTRON.
