Personal background
I am from Indianapolis In. In 2014 age 54 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from IVY Tech Community College with an Asso. Degree in Computer Information Technology and was Network plus certified. I had the worlds shortest career in IT lasting about 8 weeks. I am now disabled due to a hip replacement in September of 2014, and Multiple Joint Osteoarthritis. So I spend my days tinkering with old computers, such as the HP XW 8200 workstation with twin 3.2 Ghz Xeon CPUs that is my primary cruncher. I plan to start dabbling in Web Design or software development to keep myself occupied. I also enjoy wood working and tinkering with Cars when "Arthur Itis" allows me!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I ran across some one else on Google + in a computer builders forum that had the logo so I checked it out. And since I do not believe that we are alone in the universe I decided to lend my spare computer time. While the vastness of space may prevent "little green beings" from ever landing on earth. We may be able to find evidence of them through this project. (at least in my lifetime) Some day I believe if there is intelligence we will meet. Because just as some people thought the sound barrier could not be broken. Someday we may find a "work around" for "Light Speed", plenty of theories out there on how to do it. At the moment I have no suggestions. Thanks!
