Personal background
Retired corp IT guy - mainframe, Oracle, web, EDI, etc. Apple user, former PC user. Not a bigot for either. Waiting for the 12" iPad as the CPU will be a huge step up. New iPod=6, old iPhone 3GS. New iMac last Dec. Not a powerful one, but love it. Sailed for a number of years and have my charter certification. Mostly I'm a Grampa doing Grampa things. Former yankee now living in eastern PA. Big fan of SCiFI. Also I'm into investing online which really eeps the juices running!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Running SETI just for fun. I use my iPad mostly, so there is lots of free processing time available on the iMac.

Suggestions? I'd like to see the file size of each task. I have several large USB hard drives attached to my Mac. Can SETI!@home software make use to these to speed up processing? And yes, I'd really like it if someone would create a working iPad app to follow up on task status on my Mac. I can't babysit and would like to be able to see whats what throughout the day. I'm out most of the day, but have fast wifi access to the web 99% of the time. Of course I just go to the URL for Tasks when I'm away, to ensure it's all still running OK.
