I'm 18 years old and come from Berlin/Germany, but live since sept. 2001 in Iffezheim/Germany.

Also ich bin 18 Jahre alt, komme aus Berlin, lebe jedoch seit Sept. 2001 in Iffezheim. Das liegt dicht an der französischen Grenze in Baden-Württemberg.
Dort mache ich ein Praktikum als Fachinformatiker und lebe mit meiner Freundin zusammen ein schönes Leben ... so, das dürfte reichen :) |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Yes I believe extraterrestrial exist. I however think we should use the performance of today's computers for more meaningful purposes as the search for something which possibly doesn't exist. And if it exists anyway, advances are not for us in first line.
If we find signals of an extraterrestrial life-form are we step further, however profits not from this.
Perhaps a search against an illness would be better than this projekt, but otherwise SETI is a good project and shows the power of today's computers.
My english isn't well, so here it is in my native language again :)
Ja ich glaube an Aliens, denke jedoch, wir sollten die Leistung heutiger Computer für etwas sinnvolleres Nutzen als die Suche nach etwas, was vielleicht gar nicht existiert. Und falls es doch existiert, profitieren wir nicht in erster Linie davon.
Wenn wir Signale von einer außerirdischen Lebensform finden, sind wir einen Schritt weiter, profitieren davon aber nicht.
Vielleicht währe eine Suche gegen eine Krankheit besser als dieses Projekt, aber andererseits ist SETI ein gutes Projekt und zeigt die Leistungsfähigkeit heutiger Computer. |
