Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course, extratrerrestrial intelligence exist. How can human imagine to be alone in the universe; so many suns, so many planets, and only one sentient life, no, I can't believe such a thing.
I don't think we can discover it, they will come to us, when human will be more evoluate than now, we are just "thinking barbarians". I see them as the Vulcans of Star Treck. They keep an eye on us, patiently waiting.
We may detect an "alien" activity, but by now we are unable to communicate with other intelligency. We must first try to understand earth inhabitant. This will be a huge step for mankind, and necessary before Space exploration.
A beacon, why not, but I think they are already "hearing" us.
SETI is a great project, not only because it's one of the rare Screen Economiser for Mac, but the calculation power of all the machines permits a dream of other sentient life. Thank you for make us dreaming.
